Nico O’reilly commits the future to Manchester City while taking over a long -term contract
Nico O’reilly has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City because the 20-year-old is rewarded as a provisional left-back for his good form.
The Mancunian New Deal is two years longer than its earlier contract, while City has the opportunity to expand it by 2031, and O’Reilly believes that it is best to be.

“But in truth this is just the beginning for me. I have come so far, but I would now like to push further, improve every day and become the best player I can be. Here in City, with PEP (Guardiola) as a manager, I know that I can do that. This is the best place for a football player.”
O’Reilly made his debut in the Community Shield last year and, after being an attacking midfielder, flourished when he was converted to a left -back.
Last season he made 21 appearances and scored five goals, including three in the FA Cup final, and has now started the city’s last four games.

The director of Football Hugo Viana said England under 20 international O’Reilly had great potential.
He added: “Everyone in Manchester City is proud of our academy and Nico is a great example of why this is.
“Every young city player should look at Nico and learn how to seduce himself on and next to the field. If you do that, you won’t go far wrong.
“He is technically insured, intelligent and a brilliant reader of the game. His progress since he got into the first team was excellent and we have the feeling that he has so much more to offer. He really has great potential.”
